Erect ears are dominantly inheritable, meaning that the gene for erect ears is dominant over the gene for floppy ears. This means that if a dog inherits one copy of the gene for erect ears from either parent, it will have erect ears. However, if a dog inherits two copies of the gene for floppy ears, it will have floppy ears. Therefore, if a dog with floppy ears is bred with a dog with erect ears, their offspring will likely have erect ears due to the dominant nature of the gene for erect ears. **
